Here is a simple pattern for making dust face masks for age 1 through Large Adult. There are five sizes! These fit close to the sides of the face and from the nose down under the chin, and adjustable elastic closes in any gaps. I include photos of each step as well as diagrams and clear step-by-step instructions. I do give measurements for the elastic on each size in this updated version of the pattern. You will find those measurements on each size pattern piece. My family, as well as many others, have not acquired face masks, so in order to feel more prepared in case anyone starts coughing I researched and made these. I have had medical personnel buy this to make covers for their one N95 mask to try and preserve it as long as possible. I advise making at least 3-layers for your masks and up to 5 layers. They are more comfortable to wear with the head straps rather than the ear loops if you will be wearing them for more than a couple of hours at a time . You can make them completely washable in hot water depending on the materials that you have to work with. These are not medical masks. They will not stop you from getting any virus. They are not intended for medical procedures. Your masks will not be FDA approved. They are designed to combat dust while cleaning, working, biking, hiking, traveling or smells when painting or crafting. You will only need about 1 Fat Quarter per mask if using the same material for all three layers. Please ask any questions prior to purchasing as returns on PDF patterns due to their digital nature.
